Fallen Town of Brookfield Officer Don Bishop Honored by His Peers

About 80 different police and fire agencies turned out for the funeral of Officer Don Bishop, who died in the line of duty on Saturday.

A sea of men and women wearing blue and brown uniforms paid their respects to Town of Brookfield Police Officer Don Bishop on Thursday in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

About 80 different police and fire agencies participated in the police officer's funeral in Waukesha. Bishop, a 32-year-old Waukesha resident, died Saturday morning from an apparent heart attack while responding to a burglary call.

The Waukesha Police Department served as pallbearers during the funeral processional.

Before joining the Town of Brookfield Police Department in August 2011, Bishop worked as a dispatcher for Waukesha County and for Oconomowoc. He also previously served with the Mukwonago Police Department and the North Prairie Prairie Fire Department.

He also worked as a part-time Eagle police officer.
