On Thursday, McDade picked up a $50 gift card, drumstick ice cream novelties and pizza rolls from the Pick 'n Save at 12735 W. Capitol Dr. and attempted to pay for the items using the identity of Princess Whitfield.

Store security recognized the name from past fraudulent transactions, so they contacted Brookfield police officers and confronted McDade after the transaction. McDade tried to run from security officers, but was caught, the complaint said.

While investigating the incident, security also discovered McDade previously purchased rum and wine coolers using the Princess Whitfield account. McDade admitted to writing the fraudulent checks when pressed by Brookfield police officers, the complaint alleged.

She was freed on a $1,500 signature bond while awaiting trial.
