Woman Claims Intruders in Her House, Police Find Crack Instead

Woman accused of robbing area businesses faces more charges after insisting someone broke into her Town of Brookfield home and trashed it.

Police investigating a Town of Brookfield woman's complaint that someone had invaded and trashed her home ended up arresting the woman on a drug charge after finding crack cocaine, prosecutors allege.

Three weeks later the woman was arrested again, accused of being involved in two armed robberies in Milwaukee and Ozaukee counties.

Jaime E. Bowles, 34, was charged Wednesday in Waukesha County Circuit Court with one count of possession of cocaine. If convicted, she could face up to one year in county jail and $5,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

On Jan. 25, Town of Brookfield police were called to Bowles’ home in the 100 block of Avie Court after she said someone broke into her home, trashed it and was still inside. When officers arrived they couldn’t find anyone, but Bowles insisted they were there and began to yell.

Officers tried to calm her down and told her to stop, but Bowles refused and eventually was arrested for resisting police. She was searched and officers found a crack pipe in her pocket. Officers then searched the house and found crack inside a chewing tobacco tin.

There was no one else in the house.

According to online Wisconsin Circuit Court records, Bowles was arrested again and charged Feb. 16 in Milwaukee and Ozaukee County Circuit Courts in connection with armed robberies on Feb. 9 and 10. Further information about the robberies was not immediately available.

Bowles pleaded not guilty to the armed robbery charge in Milwaukee, where she remained jailed on $7,500 bond.

She was ordered to make her first appearance in Waukesha County Circuit Court on March 26 for the home invasion-related cocaine possession charge.
