Brookfield to Spend $195,000 on Lots for Added Parking in Villages

Officials are hopeful the addition of parking will make the area more attractive and viable for businesses.

Brookfield officials approved the purchase of two lots in Village area to accommodate current business' needs as well as attract new storefronts.

The new lot will add 28 to 30 spaces on parcels located at 18725 and 18755 Hoffman Ave., which totals about 1/2-acre of space, according to a JSOnline.com article. The properties will cost $195,000.

The Brookfield Common Council discussed the issue in late August, saying that addition parking would spur business growth in the Brookfield Village area along Brookfield Road. The Brookfield Village area currently has 56 public parking spots with an additional 64 spaces in the McCoy Field parking lot.
