Election Brings Out Record Numbers

Voters — young, old and new — kept city polling sites busy Tuesday, prompting the second-highest turnout for a spring election since 2001.

Voters of all ages — including twin teenagers voting for their first time — filled polling sites to prompt a 53 percent city turnout, the second-highest for a spring election in a decade.

Brookfield Patch stopped by polling stations at Dixon Elementary School and the Public Safety Building, as well as the absentee processing at City Hall,  to catch election day happenings.
