September 11 Remembrance

Mayor Tom Barrett and County Executive Chris Abele will honor the victims of September 11, 2001 with a special ceremony at the Milwaukee War Memorial Center.

Wreaths will be placed in the reflecting pool at the War Memorial’s Fitch Plaza and speakers will remember the lives lost. After the program everyone is invited to ring the bell of the USS Milwaukee in memory of the victims.

“11 years after the attacks most of us have returned to our daily routines, but we must never forget the first responders and those that were killed,” Abele said.

“It’s important that we gather to honor those who lost their lives on September 11th and to pay tribute to the members of the armed services who continue to risk their lives to protect us,” Barrett said.

When: September 11, 2012 – 7:30 – 8:15am

Speakers: Mayor Barrett, County Executive Abele, Governor Scott Walker, Police Chief Ed Flynn, Gurmal Singh - Sikh Temple of Wisconsin

Where: War Memorial Center
750 N. Lincoln Memorial Dr, Milwaukee, WI
