Final Day to Pay Taxes to Claim 2011 Deduction

City and Town reopen Jan. 3 for property tax payments

Property owners have until Jan. 31 to pay their tax bills in whole or make an installment. However, if you want to deduct the payment on your 2011 taxes, you have to pay the bill by today.

The will be open today from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The lines have been long all week, so expect a wait. Payments can be made by check or in cash.

If you wish to pay by credit card or an electronic check, the City of Brookfield has an online payment service.  There is a small service charge for this option.
