Roundabouts inspire either love or loathing among Wisconsin drivers, so Brookfield residents will want to know that a roundabout planned for the city this summer will be delayed one year.
A roundabout at the intersection of Brookfield Road and North Avenue was slated to be completed this August after about three months of work. However, Waukesha County decided to delay the project to next summer after all bids exceeded the available budget.
According to a letter from Waukesha County Director of Public Works Allison Bussler, the county does have funds to take on the project in 2014, and hopes that soliciting bids earlier will yield better prices.
