Get Rid of Hazardous Waste at Brookfield Collection

The Brookfield Recycling Center will accept hazardous waste materials from Waukesha County residents on June 2 in a special collection program with Waukesha County.

Waukesha County residents can safely dispose of hazardous waste materials June 2 in Brookfield.

All county residents can drop off hazardous waste materials from 8 a.m. to noon June 2 at the Brookfield Recycling Center, 19700 Riverview Dr. The Brookfield site typically only accepts materials from city residents.

Acceptable: Old, unusable chemicals, pesticides, wood preservatives, solvents, oil-based paints, and mercury-containing products

Not acceptable: Latex paint and non-hazardous cleaning materials

"This is a once a year opportunity for residents in the Brookfield area to properly dispose of hazardous waste in a convenient location," said Karen Fiedler, Solid Waste Supervisor for Waukesha County.

Can't make the June 2 event? Two other county collections are planned:

  • June 16 at Delafield City Department of Public Works
  • Sept. 8 at Oconomowoc City Public Works Garage

This program is funded by Waukesha County and Veolia Environmental Services in partnership with the local municipalities. Proof of residency is required at all locations at all times.
