Days before the election, Republican vice presidential candidate and 1st District congressman will visit Memorial Hall.

Updated at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday to include details of Obama visit

Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan will visit Racine on Wednesday afternoon.

Billed as a victory rally from the Romney-Ryan campaign, Ryan is slated to visit Memorial Hall at 2:15 p.m. with a mix of state and national GOP names.

Tickets are free, but registration is required by visiting the campaign's website.

Doors open at 12:15, and the program is scheduled to begin at 2:15 p.m. Residents will be subject to airport-style security as they enter the hall. Bags will not be allowed, but cameras are permitted. Signs, umbrellas and sharp objects are also prohibited.

Wednesday is a busy day for Ryan. Before he heads into Racine, he'll make stops in Eau Claire and Green Bay as well.

On Tuesday, Ryan is stopping at GOP victory centers in La Crosse and Hudson, and using the stops as collection points for donations to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy on the East Coast.

Other big names are also making a point of stopping in Wisconsin this week.

Ann Romney, wife of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is stopping in Green Bay on Tuesday, and Vice President Joe Biden returns for stops in Beloit and Superior on Friday.

Biden was in Wisconsin last week for stops at UW-Oshkosh and UW-Parkside in Kenosha.

And Tuesday afternoon, the campaign of President Barack Obama announced that he would campaign in Green Bay on Thursday morning. Free tickets are available on the campaign's website.

Just because you reject the precedent doesn't mean it isn't a legitimate precedent, Heather. Given how close the presidential race is currently and taking into account how the storm out east has effected campaigning during these last few days, even were there not a precedent in place, it would be foolish for Ryan or any other VP candidate in a similar position to take time away from the presidential campaign to engage in a debate with a congressional opponent. There will be no debate.
