Sensenbrenner Staffer Named to State Post

Wendy Riemann, communications director for U.S. Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, was tapped as Wisconsin director of federal relations.

Wendy Riemann, communications director for U.S. Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, was named today as Wisconsin's director of federal relations.

Gov. Scott Walker announced Riemann will advocate on the federal level for Wisconsin agencies and policies. 

"Wendy Riemann is a strong leader with the skills to effectively represent our administration in Washington D.C.," Walker said.

"Coordination between federal and state agencies is important and Wendy's experience in both federal and state government will serve us well as we help Wisconsin's private sector create 250,000 jobs by 2015," he added. 

A Sheboygan native, Riemann worked for Sensenbrenner in his Washington D.C. office, not his in Bishop Woods. She previously worked for Tommy Thompson when he was U.S. Health and Human Services secretary. She has a bachelors degree in journalism from UW Madison and a masters in communication rom Johns Hopkins University.

Riemann said: “I look forward to continuing my work with the entire Wisconsin congressional delegation, as well as working with Governor Walker and his administration, to promote our state and be a strong advocate for all Wisconsin residents on federal policies impacting them."
