Threats Made to National Teachers Unions Firm in Brookfield

Company and WEAC official report receiving threatening and harassing phone calls.

Correction (Nov. 22): The FBI has not been monitoring a Brookfield-based national marketing firm that represents teachers unions. The original version of this story said FBI agents were in the business's parking lot monitoring it after threats, but the agents were parked there for unrelated surveillance, Brookfield police said Tuesday. The Brookfield Patch regrets the error.

United Education Profession in Brookfield called police several times last week to report employees had receiving harassing, threatening phone calls.

The same week that an effort to was launched, employees of United Education Profession called police three times about threats and suspicious vehicles in its Burleigh Road parking lot.

The first recall Walker petitions were signed just after midnight Tuesday, and a was held Tuesday evening outside Walker's Wauwatosa home. The rally was organized by We Are Milwaukee, whose spokesman Ted Kraig, is an employee with Council 10 of the Wisconsin Education Association Council, the state teachers union. The union is located in the same building as United Education Profession.

According to police reports:

At 7:11 a.m. Wednesday, a United Education Profession staff assistant called Brookfield police to say a man had phoned the business three times that morning telling her how "(expletive) up" the teachers and their unions are. The caller's identity was blocked.

United Education called police again the next afternoon, saying it was continuing to receive threats from an unknown caller.

Kraig, who works in the same building, also told police Thursday that he was getting harassing calls to his home, cell and work phones, including calls at 2 a.m. Thursday. No messages ever were left and the phone listed to a number with a 612 area code.

Kraig said he believe his recall advocacy and media interviews at the Wauwatosa rally had prompted the calls.

He added that another vocal recall supporter had reported to WEAC's Sun Prairie police that she had received a death threat from the same phone number that was calling Kraig.

At 4 p.m. Thursday United Education called police a third time, this time concerned about two vehicles parked in its lot. An employee said she had approached the occupants in the vehicles who both said they were with the FBI. The business asked police to verify this, and officers confirmed they were FBI agents.

Police said Tuesday the agents were there for unrelated surveillance and not for any issues related to United Education Profession.

Recall yard sign complaint

A resident in the 15400 block of Hackberry Lane said someone had defaced his Recall Walker yard sign sometime overnight Saturday.

A sign saying "We Love" was placed over the Recall Walker sign and someone wrote in smaller print an expletive and the word "socialist." The man said he didn't want to prosecute the offender, but wanted the incident put on the record.

and who are the real thugs, and slobs. guess we know by now that it is the republican party. they will stoop as low as they can to try to stop this. but the more dirt they do the more people will wnat to remove him and he will be removed

@Linda W. I agree, that's my opinion too, 'the Republican Party has lost it's collective mind" All that threaten 'We the People' need to be held accountable, there seems to be many that choose any means to an end to achieve what they want while destroying the American People and our Country. Vote them out, protect our voting rights, make them all accountable legally for everything they do. If they can't be charged on criminal charges, lets do a group action 'civil' action. Get these jokers out of office!

The GOP seems to harbor so much hatred that they are evolving from callous to dangerous.

My grade schooler weft to the capital for a field trip and had to have the democratic protestors and their beliefs surround him. My child came home and asked why walker was a bad man!

It is interesting to me that when it is assumed to be a Republican action there is an outrage. I didn't read anything about a Senate threat to kill another Senator, for Liberals that is just free speech. When Walker was threatened or his house being marched on, again, that is just free speech. Why is it that when Liberals do anything it is "right" and if a conservative would do the same thing it is "wrong"? Why is it the Liberals support "occupy wall street" with all the problems and reject the Tea Party. It is to bad that laws don't apply equally then everyone would be held accountable for their actions.

I hope you gave him an honest answer.....the best civics lesson he/she could have. Use the moment to teach....

@Greg --- What preceived threats are you referring to?
John Montgomery November 24, 2011 at 08:11 pm
My god people wake up only one party has motive to do it. My guess is if the FBI is there protests are not what is being threated . telling Walker you will remove him from office is a threat yes, but not the same as telling him you will kill him Greg. I have no idea what the treats were, but my guess is if the FBI is involved. They were threats of violence . I would also guess If Walker was threatened with violence and there was any truth to it the FBI would get involved there as well. Common sense should tell you this. Half the things that happened in the past few years with banks ,regular people would be locked up for doing. Greg=brain dead American, that watches Fox News .Ill bet money on him watching Fox! A study was just done showing that people that watch Fox news are less informed about world events than people that watch no news at all LMAO

I am sad to see the divisiveness in Wisconsin! It's no longer a spirit of compromise - it's become pretty much dangerous! I blame Scott Walker for creating this atmosphere and for ruining the state! He's trying to be a dictator instead of a Governor! I wonder when they will dig the moat around the Capitol and fill it with alligators and then charge us for safe passage on a per person basis?

Over the past several years, there have been several youth from throughout the world who haveRead More attended high school for one academic year in the Elmbrook School District through the Rotary youth exchange program. It is a tremendous opportunity for growth by the young adult, as well as the host family! If you have even the slightest bit of interest, I'd encourage you to contact Bill Petterson from the Elmbrook Rotary. It's a long-standing international program with many checks and balances so the experience is beneficial for all concerned.

We hosted a high school girl from Thailand three years ago and we continue that friendship with herRead More and her family. Not only do you, as a host family give a young person from another country a better understanding of America and Americans, but you learn about the perspectives and viewpoints of people from a totally different culture. It opens up our world view. If you have never hosted, do it!

I believe your first 4 words. After that your credibilty dramatically falls off. The only "beatRead More down" received was by the middle & low income class of Wisconsinites. "As governor, I will sign legislation to prohibit the members of the State Legislature from voting after 10:00 at night or before 9:00 in the morning. This commonsense reform ensures the public has the opportunity to contact elected representatives about their votes on any pending legislation important to them. I have two teenagers and I tell them that nothing good happens after midnight. That's even more true in politics. The people of Wisconsin deserve to know what their elected leaders are voting on." --Scott Walker

Cry more. The temper tantrum never ends. I hear Illinois has a few hotel rooms you guys can bunkerRead More down in while you hold drum circles. Walker to sign low and middle class tax cuts. Oh what a beat down.
