Week Ahead: City Surveys, Knit Fashion Show and River Cleanup

The week ahead also includes prom, a scrap metal drive, and a lecture about relationships between women.

News

City Survey: This week all residents should receive mailed invitations from the city to participate in a 15-minute online survey that will help officials with budgeting and long-range strategic planning. The letter will include a code that residents can enter on the city website to complete the survey, as well as the option to request a hard copy of the survey. Residents are asked to complete the surveys by April 30.

Events

Fashion Show: River Boutique and Yarn is having its Tuesday. For the audience, there will be seating, chocolate, and opportunities to get help with knitting. The free event will run from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Scrap Metal Drive: All 'Bout Children Preschool is hosting a Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Stonewood Village at 17700 W. Capitol Dr. in Brookfield. They will be collecting appliances made with metal, copper, or aluminum, as well as aluminum and metal cans and lids. Donors will receive a receipt for a tax deductible donations. Money from the recycling drive will be used for an expansion of an outdoor classroom and on technology. For more information, contact Heather at 262-894-5437.

River Cleenup: Milwaukee Riverkeeper's 17th annual is Saturday, with several sites in the Brookfield area, from 9 a.m. to noon. Riverkeeper will provide bags, gloves, and free t-shirts.

Lecture on Relationships Between Women: is hosting a presentation, "My Mother, My Friend" Saturday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the at 375 S. Moorland Rd. in Brookfield. The speaker, author Mary Marcdante, will discuss strategies for breaking down communication barriers with mothers and in other relationships with women.

Prom: is holding its prom Saturday at the Intercontinental Hotel in Milwaukee with the Grand March starting at 6:30 p.m. The high school will host a post-prom party from midnight to 3 a.m. This year's theme is "The Lost City of Atlantis." 's prom will be May 4 at the Wisconsin Club.
