The Week Ahead: Coming Up in Brookfield

Events on the calendar for the library, city and schools, plus a celebration in the business community as the Chamber of Commerce welcomes the Bank of England.

Monday is your last chance to get a free lesson on using the Brookfield Public Library's new online catalog. The last of three training sessions provided by library staff is at 7 p.m.

Also, Monday at the library, the Great Lives-Biography Book Group meets from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Rotary Room. The group welcomes everyone interested in reading and discussing biographies.

The library is at 1900 N. Calhoun Rd.

On Wednesday, the Sister Cities Committee meets from 8 to 9 a.m. in the Main Conference Room at City Hall. The agenda for the meeting is not yet available.

Wednesday, the Elmbrook Schools will present a Special Education Engagement Network session, from 2 to 6 p.m. at district headquarters, 13780 Hope St.

Patricia Pelzel will present on assistive technology to support students' access to general education curriculum. Parents are invited and encouraged to engage in issues relating to special education. 

On Thursday, the Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its newest member in a Bank of England Open House and Ribbon Cutting.

The open house celebration is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with lunch included, at the bank's quarters at 16745 W. Bluemound Road, Suite 303, with the ribbon cutting promptly at noon.
