Jars of Wisdom: Sunset Playhouse's latest "Bug in a Rug" family program features a Sunset original musical about a groundhog, bunny, chicken, and some funny sheep "who learn that being happy, having friends and trusting in yourself are the greatest bits of wisdom." Shows are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for children 3 and older, free 2 and younger and $4 for groups of 15 or more.

Brookfield Academy Musical: The Middle School at will perform "Once on This Island, Jr.," adapted from "The Little Mermaid," at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Constitution Hall All Purpose Room.

Day the Music Died: Mark Shurilla presents a 2-hour musical tribute at 7:30 p.m. Saturday to the music from the era of the Day the Music Died at Sunset Playhouse, 800 Elm Grove Rd.
