MOVING FORWARD, AND FURTHER TAX RELIEF FOR WISCONSIN

It’s reassuring to know that Governor Scott Walker’s top priority is working to lower the tax burden for all Wisconsinites, and to help create a better climate for business. By putting in place the foundation for a sound fiscal state, Wisconsin’s economy is growing – and we’ve already seen the positive results of conservative policies.

During their time in office, Governor Walker and fellow Republicans first put the brakes on bad fiscal policy. By balancing a $3.6 billion budget deficit in the last biennium, they were able to then fully invest in Wisconsin taxpayers this next biennium. Just this year, a budget was signed into law that included investments in education, nearly one billion in tax relief for Wisconsin’s families, and programs to help enhance our workforce.

But Governor Walker continued to work toward returning money back to Wisconsin families – just this week, his plan to provide an additional $100 million in property tax relief passed the state legislature.  Under this plan, the average homeowner will save $680 over the next four years.
