Elmbrook Teaching Positions Shrinking for Next School Year

A number of Elmbrook School District teachers will receive notices of non-renewals for next school year.

Six Elmbrook School District teachers will receive notices of non-renewals for next school year. Only one of the six positions is a full-time teaching position.

The layoffs were approved Tuesday night at the Elmbrook School Board as a part of the school district’s consent agenda.

Brookfield Central High School was the main target of the contract non-renewals. Two half-time employees and one full-time employee were on the list. Other layoffs includes a half-time position at Tonawanda Elementary School and .8 full-time equivalency positions at Pilgrim Park Middle School and Fairview South.

“Unfortunately that is the reality of declining enrollment,” Foy said.
