Brookfield East Students Named Kohl Foundation Scholars

Started in 1990, the foundation has awarded $7.8 million to students, teachers and schools. The two Brookfield East High School students will each receive $1,000 scholarships.

Brookfield East High students Kathleen Browne and Jennifer Vosters have been named 2012 Herb Kohl Foundation Excellence Scholars.

The two each will receive $1,000 scholarships at a luncheon March 31.

Students are selected as scholars for academic excellence, leadership and activities and "strong promise for succeeding in college and beyond," according to the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Scholarship and Fellowship Program.

“Education is the key to the future of Wisconsin and our nation. I am very proud of the accomplishments of these students and teachers, and look forward to the great contributions they will make in the future,” Kohl said in an news release.
