Junior Lancer Cheerleaders Win First Place, Grand Champion

Both the elementary and middle school teams with Junior Lancer Cheer finished at the top of their divisions at a recent cheerleading invite in Menomonee Falls.

Two Junior Lancer Cheer teams won first place in their respective divisions, with the middle school team being named "Grand Champion" of all teams 8th grade and younger at a recent invite.

About 40 cheer teams from across the state participated in the Nov. 17 Menomonee Falls Indian Invite cheerleading competition.

Junior Lancer Cheer's White team — comprised of elementary school students — took 1st Place in the Youth/Rec Grades 3 to 5.

Junior Lancer Cheer's Blue team — comprised of middle school students — took 1st Place in the Youth/Rec Grades 5 to 7. The Blue Team also was selected as Grand Champion of all 8th grade and younger teams by earning the most total points.

Junior Lancer Cheer, the feeder youth cheerleading organization of Brookfield Central High School Cheer, is a no-cut sport with no try-outs for girls in grades 3 to 8. It's a volunteer-run organization that does not receive funding from property taxes or school fees. The group also has a Facebook page: facebook.com/JuniorLancerCheer

Members of the White team are the following students from St. John Vianney Parish School, Brookfield Elementary and Swanson Elementary: Ainsley Regner, Ainsley Taipala, Elizabeth Gagliano, Isabella Hansen, Isabella Orgemann, Jenna Ruedt, Mackenzie Crow, Marisa Roth, Mia Wedel, Nina Flanary, Paris Konzal and Taylor Bauer. They are coached by Michelle Uhrle, Victoria Pipia and Meghan Uhrle.

Members of the Blue team are the following students from Wisconsin Hills Middle School and Silver Lake Intermediate School: Agathe Olier, Ana Shah, Arianna Rebancos, Bridget Mulcahy, Brittany Dollhopf, Brooke Barreda, Emma Romant, Eva Hensel, Grayson Shaddrick, Jensen Smith, Julianne Price, Lindsey Retzlaff, Mara Dunn, Marie Brinkmann, Melanie Van Haren, Meghan Uhrle, Natalie Cadd, Reagan Lampkin, Savannah Randall, Savannah Waller, Tatiana Washington, Victoria Pipia (Team Captain), Vika Blankenburg, and Yasi Shah. They are coached by Michelle Uhrle, Steve Randall and Renee Shah.

The White and Blue teams will compete at these three upcoming competitions:

Jan. 6: Bring on the Heat
Feb. 2: Brookfield Blast
Feb. 9: KMLHS Cheer and Dance

The Blue team also will compete at:

Dec. 16: Cardinal Challenge
Feb. 24: US Finals Regionals in Madison
March 3: JamFest Nationals in Chicago (this is Junior Lancer Cheer's first time competing at a National competition)
