Dixon Blood Drive Helps Save 150 Lives
Want to find a blood drive in Brookfield? There are several blood drives being held soon.
Dixon Elementary School has provided to blood to help save 150 lives during its blood drives the past few years, according to third grade teacher Michael Fox.
Jennifer Wilkinson, a Dixon parent and a nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital, was donating blood Thursday afternoon. Wilkinson’s donated a variety of ways – including direct donation for her mother – and she finds it convenient to donate at Dixon after school.
“They are always in need of blood for transfusing patients,” Wilkinson said. “It just gives you a good feeling to give something that is easy to give.”
