East High's AD Resigning to Take Principal Job

Brookfield East Athletic and Activities Director Corey Golla has resigned to take a job as principal at Menomonee Falls High School.

Brookfield East Athletic and Activities Director Corey Golla has resigned to accept a job as principal at Menomonee Falls High School.

Golla's announcement came a week after East head basketball coach Andy Farley said he was leaving to become associate principal at Menomonee Falls High School.

Golla, who has held the East High position since 2004, will leave effective June 30. He started with Elmbrook in 1996 as a teacher and coach at Pilgrim Park Middle School and then East.

"While this opportunity is exciting to me professionally and a great opportunity for my family, leaving Brookfield East and the Elmbrook School District is difficult," Golla said.

"I have proudly given 16 years of my career to this district and the Spartans will be in my heart forever. I am proud of every program I am leaving behind, and I wish to thank the entire East community for your support."

Brookfield East Principal Dan Pavletich said Golla's move would be a big loss for East but the district will immediately search for a successor. Golla pledged to help find a new director and create a smooth transition.

"I cannot put into words the far-reaching impact Mr. Golla has had on the Brookfield East students, staff, and community," Pavletich said. "While his title has been Athletic and Activities Director, he has meant so much more to this school."

Golla recently received the Brookfield Jaycees Distinguished Service Award, an honor bestowed upon one outstanding school district employee each year.

In his nomination of Golla for the award, Superintendent Matt Gibson said Golla was "an advocate for student participation, sportsmanship, character development and award-winning performance."
