Gifts to Elmbrook Exceed $625K

Elmbrook's academic and extracurricular achievements are rooted in the "happy confluence of three things," School Board President Tom Gehl said at Monday night's annual meeting.

Families, community and teachers.

The support of the community is as important as the students, parents and teachers, Gehl said. From property taxes to charitable donations, local residents do much to keep Elmbrook successful, he and Superintendent Mark Hansen said.

Gehl offered "heartfelt thanks" the each of the people and groups in the list below who donated to the district in the 2011-12 school year. Gifts totaled more than $625,000.

"Absolutely stunning," Hansen said. "Kudos to the community for its continuing support of education."

In addition to the $625,000 in gifts, the Elmbrook community also provides support through the Elmbrook Education Foundation, which administers a District-wide Educational Grant and Continuing Education Scholarship program and is developing a permanent endowment for the benefit of Elmbrook students and schools.
