Elmbrook Education Foundation Raises $20K

The foundation's Winter Social event at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts raised money for scholarships and grants to Elmbrook schools.

The Elmbrook Education Foundation raised more than $20,000 at its Winter Social March 12 at the . 

With the Elmbrook School District facing annual multi-million budget shortfalls, private fundraising is a welcome and needed.

More than 250 people attended the fundraiser, themed "Tropical Getaway" that featured live music, casino games, a jewelry dig, raffles and refreshments. The more than $20,000 raised will help the nonprofit foundation fund causes such as the Lancer-Spartan Scholarship Program, district innovation grants and permanent endowments.

EEF President David Frank said, "We are lucky to live in a community that places such a high value on the quality of its public schools."

The event was presented by R.W. Baird & Co. and MillerCoors. Sponsors included Michael Drake Entertainment, Casino Party Specialists, Faye's, Zilli's Hospitality Group, Charro Restaurant of Brookfield, Caribou on Bluemound and Babboni Photography. The Wilson Center acted as the facility partner.

The Elmbrook Education Foundation in the past 50 years has awarded more than $960,000 in merit and need-based scholarships to more than 900 students planning to attend post-high school education. Since 2001, the EEF  has awarded more than $226,000 in grants to Elmbrook's six elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools.
