Elmbrook Grads Succeeding in Sports and Classroom

A standout hockey goaltender is again leading Union College into the national spotlight, while three other former Brookfield athletes were Academic All-Big 10 in the fall.

Brookfield’s Troy Grosenick has a 9-7-5 record as goaltender for the Union (NY) College men’s hockey team, which was ranked No. 18 in the latest national poll.

He was named first-team All-East Coast Athletic Conference this year as a junior, after earning American Hockey Coaches Association first-team All-American honors last year, leading Union to the NCAA Frozen Four.

Grosenick, a managerial economics major, received the school’s Sophomore Scholar Athlete Award last year. He is a graduate of Brookfield East, but waited three years to attend college, instead playing club hockey to raise his profile.
