Elmbrook Reading, Math Proficiency Scores Outperform State Average

More Elmbrook students were proficient in reading and math than in the 2012-13 school year.

The number of students in the Elmbrook School District who tested proficient significantly surpassed the state average/

Across the state, reading and math scores have increased, according to a news release from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Overall, 48.6 percent of students scored proficient or advanced in mathematics on the WKCE. Elmbrook was significantly ahead as 77 percent of district students scoring proficient or advanced in mathematics. In reading, 36.6 percent of students scored proficient or advanced statewide; Elmbrook students outperformed Β the state average with 56.4 percent scoring at proficient or advanced levels.

The scores are also an increase from the 2012-13 school year.Β  75.4 percent of students scored as proficient in math while 55.6 percent of students were proficient in reading.
