Brookfield, Wis. – Parents and their children are invited to meet a police dog, climb aboard a fire truck and learn about keeping kids safe at a free “Child Safety Seminar” Dec. 3 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Charlie’s East Coast Hair Designs.
The Child Safety Seminar is presented by the Town of Brookfield Police Department and the HBBA networking organization. The fun will include door prizes and refreshments. Charlie’s East Coast Hair Designs is at 285 N. Janacek Road (one block south of Bluemound Road).
The Child Safety Seminar will feature presentations by police and firefighters on fire safety, proper use and installation of child car seats, and the dos and don’ts of “stranger danger.”

Attendees can meet one of the furriest police officers around: Conan, a Belgian Malinois who works in a K-9 unit with the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department. The squad car used by Conan and his partner, Deputy Chad Niles, will be available for up-close viewing.
Kids can examine equipment on a fire truck from the Town of Brookfield Fire Department, and climb into the cab to imagine themselves speeding on an heroic mission. Parents will be given fingerprinting kits for their children, compliments of AAA. Literature on a multitude of safety topics will be available.

“We hope the entire community comes out to have fun, learn about these important child safety topics, and make some new friends,” said Charlie Bianco of Charlie’s East Coast Hair Designs. “We are very pleased to host this event as a ‘thank you’ to our Brookfield neighbors for their tremendous support since our salon opened in September.”
Bianco is a member of the Brookfield-Wauwatosa chapter of Helping Businesses Build Assets (HBBA), a fast-growing Wisconsin-based organization for business owners.
Charlie’s East Coast Hair Designs is a full-service, New York-style salon offering classic barbering services, hair designs, color and waxing for women and men. Bianco, a Brooklyn native, is a Master Barber with more than 25 years of professional practice.
