Solar Energy Tour Site in Brookfield -- October 1, 2011 -- 10 am to 4 pm

Homes and businesses around SE Wisconsin, including in Brookfield, are opening their doors so you can learn more about solar energy!  Come find out about affordable renewable energy and sustainable living ideas at Unitarian Universalist Church West, 13001 W. North Ave., in Brookfield.

UU Church West has an 8.4 kW solar electric PV system on the roof of their flat roofed building.  It was installed in 2008 keeping with the Unitarian Universalist values of Earth Stewardship and was the first church in WE Energies territory with a PV system. The system meets between 15% and 20% of the church's energy usage and was funded with donations from church members and grants from WE Energies and Focus on Energy.  A certified solar site evaluator will be on hand to help you learn more about the solar electric PV system.

There are ten other sites on the tour as well, find out more at https://www.midwestrenew.org/solartoursoutheast  The Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) was formed with a mission to promote renewable energy and sustainable living through education and demonstration.
