The school is part of the Waukesha County Special Education Cooperative, and students are able to attend through the school year that they turn 21, Gahan said. Relationships with students are developed over the years.

"We have students who come back to homecomings and spring flings, we have students who are adults who come back," Gahan said, "there's definitely a connection there with the families."
