Herzing University President Rocks Summerfest for Fundraiser

Classic rock band "Hell on Heels," featuring University President Renee Herzing, will raise money today for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee.

Herzing University President Renee Herzing will mix charity and classic rock 'n roll today when her band "Hell on Heels" performs today at Summerfest.

With Herzing on lead vocals and her husband Rene on lead guitar, "Hell on Heels" will rock the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard stage today from noon to 2 p.m. Rene Herzing is the university's director of advertising.

The couple decided to turn the big gig into a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee and invited donors to mingle over lunch at Summerfest with leaders including Mayor Barrett, County Executive Abele and U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore.

Herzing University, based in Milwaukee, has 11 campuses in the U.S. including Brookfield which opened last year. Herzing University Online is located in Menomonee Falls.

Renee Herzing and her husband's rock band toured Germany, earning accolades, before the couple moved to the U.S. to join the business founded by Renee's father.
