How Are Elmbrook Graduates Doing in College Sports?
One graduate was trying to help his team to the NCAA Hockey Frozen Four; others are competing in track and tennis.
Brookfield native Troy Grosenick and Union NY College came up one game short of a return trip to the NCAA Frozen Four, losing 5-1 to Quinnipiac in the East Regional Final on Saturday.
Grosenick, a junior, is the goaltender for Union and was a first-team All-American as a sophomore. This year he had a 2.12 goals-against average and a 17-10-5 record. He is a 2007 graduate of Brookfield East.

SCollin Taylor, a graduate of Brookfield East, won the high jump competing for UW-Madison at the Yellow Jacket Invitational at Georgia Tech on March 30.
Taylorβs best effort was 6 feet, 11.75 inches, clearing it on his final attempt. He was ninth in the 2013 Big Ten Indoor Championships earlier this spring had has a career best jump of 7 feet, 1 inch.

Kara Krugel, a redshirt freshman from Brookfield Central, was third in the triple jump for UW-Madison at an NCAA Indoor Qualifier on March 1.
Katelyn Malcore, a sophomore from Brookfield Central, was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles at an NCAA Indoor Qualifier on March 1. Last spring she was 12th in the Big Ten Outdoor Championship preliminaries in the 100 hurdles.
Aaron Dillon, a sophomore at UW-Milwaukee from Brookfield East, was seventh in the Horizon League Indoor Championships in the long jump this spring. According to the UW-Milwaukee website injuries held him back this year; last year he won the triple jump in both the indoor and outdoor seasons and was the Field Newcomer of the Year in the Horizon League.
Katie Tolan of Marquette, a sophomore from Brookfield East, helped the Golden Eagles 4 x 800 relay team to a 10th-place finish at the Big East Indoor Championships on Feb. 17. Their time of 9:05.60 was fourth-best in school history.
She also was 18th in the preliminaries for the 800 meters.
Rebecca Nelson, a senior at UW-Green Bay, helped the Phoenix to their first dual match win in girls tennis on March 30, 7-0 over Valparaiso. Nelson and her doubles partner won 8-4 at No. 1 doubles, and she posted a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles.
