What’s the best part of teaching in the Elmbrook School District:
The best part of teaching in Elmbrook School District is their ongoing dedication to provide the best programming for all of their students and their willingness to support Fairview South as a part of their range of services and programs. Working at Elmbrook has enabled me to do the work I love and learn, evolve and change as a teacher and as an individual.
Why I wanted to be a teacher:
I wanted to be a teacher since I was in elementary school. I wanted a job that would allow me to make a difference with individual students, especially the ones who needed the most. I believe that students who experience success even in small ways will strive to have more successes.
If I wasn’t a teacher, I’d be:
If I wasn’t a teacher I would be a landscaper or an attorney.

My least favorite subject in high school was:
Chemistry was my least favorite subject in high school.

Grilled cheese

Angela Roach
- School: Fairview South School
- Grade/Subject: I teach students from grades 5-12 with significant cognitive, physical and medical needs.
- Years in the Elmbrook School District: Nine years
- College/University: I attended UW-Eau Claire for my undergraduate degree in Social Work, and then Cardinal Stritch University for my master’s degree in Education.
What’s the best part of teaching in the Elmbrook School District:
I love being part of a high quality district that is constantly looking for ways to improve the education of all students, including those with special needs. I work with a fantastic team of teachers, teaching assistants, and administrators. I feel incredibly fortunate to have such outstanding co-workers, who are so dedicated to our special kids.
Why I wanted to be a teacher:
I wanted to help improve the lives of the children with the most need for care, compassion, and understanding. I love seeing them learn and grow, even if it is in baby steps.
If I wasn’t a teacher, I’d be:
A nurse.
My least favorite subject in high school was:
Speech class, most definitely, with math being a close second.
My favorite school lunch menu item was:
The lunch my dad would pack for me every day.
