Panoply of Free School Music Concerts Beckons

Elmbrook's schools offer an panoply of free music concerts open to the public at the end of the school year. Pick a few nights and enjoy a variety of student band, orchestra or choral arrangements. Most events are about an hour.

Tuesday May 22

7 p.m.: Brookfield East High Orchestra Concert, at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts, 19805 W. Capitol Dr.

Wednesday May 23

2 and 7 p.m.: Swanson Elementary Chorus and Instrumental Concert, at the school, 305 N. Calhoun Rd.

7 p.m.: Pilgrim Park Middle 7th and 8th Grade Choral Spring Concert, at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts, 19805 W. Capitol Dr.

Thursday May 24

7 p.m.: Brookfield Central High Choral Concert, at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts, 19805 W. Capitol Dr.

7:30 p.m.: Brookfield East High Choir Concert, at Carroll University's Shattuck Auditorium, 218 N. East Ave., Waukesha. Map

Friday May 25

9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.: Swanson Elementary's 5th Grade Musical, at the school, 305 N. Calhoun Rd.

Wednesday May 30

2:30 p.m.: Tonawanda Band and Orchestra Concert, before the Fine Arts Faire in the school gym, 13605 Underwood River Parkway, Elm Grove.

7 p.m.: Wisconsin Hllls Middle 6th Grade Band Concert, at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts, 19805 W. Capitol Dr.

Thursday May 31

10 a.m. and 7 p.m.: Swanson Elementary Band and Orchestra Concert, at the school, 305 N. Calhoun Rd.

Friday June 1

6 to 9 p.m.: Brookfield East High Music Concert/Slam Poetry. Winner of the 2012 Battle of the Bands to benefit the Brookfield East Drama Department, held in the school's Black Box Theater, 3305 Lilly Rd.

Saturday June 2

6 to 10 p.m.: Brookfield Central High Bebop and BBQ. Dinner at 5, Jazz Band at 7, at the school, 16900 W. Gebhardt Rd.
