Retirement Event for Elmbrook Superintendent Matt Gibson

A reception will be held June 14 at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts to recognize Elmbrook Schools Superintendent Matt Gibson, who is retiring after 17 years.

The public is invited to a reception to recognize Elmbrook Schools Superintendent Matt Gibson, who is retiring after 17 years heading the district.

A reception will be held at 4 p.m. June 14 — with a program at 5:30 p.m. — at the , 19805 W. Capitol Dr. 

Gibson is retiring after 17 years with Elmbrook, 31 years as a superintendent, and 40 years total in education.

"The community is invited to a celebration to honor Dr. Gibson’s legacy of leadership and his commitment to educate and inspire every student to think, to learn, and to succeed," the district said in a release. The Elmbrook Education Foundation plans a "special announcement" during the program, which will include cookies and refreshments.

In lieu of retirement gifts, Dr. Gibson has requested donations be made to the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts.
