Elmbrook School Aid Rises $200K

Elmbrook is one of just 13 school districts out of 424 statewide to receive an increase in state aid. But local property taxes — not state aid – continues to be Elmbrook's overwhelming revenue source.

State aid to the Elmbrook School District will rise by about $200,000 or 3.67 percent, but local property taxes — not state aid — will continue to be the lion's share of Elmbrook's revenue.

Of 424 school districts statewide, Elmbrook is one of just 13 that will see its state aid increase for 2011-12, according to preliminary estimates released today by the state Department of Public Instruction.

The 13 districts seeing aid gains also include the Milwaukee suburban districts of Fox Point J2, Mequon-Thiensville, Pewaukee and Stone Bank.

Actual aid figures will not be known until October after final enrollment and other information is known.
