East Girls Ski Team Heading to State After 2nd Place Finish
Erica Engstrand and Michael Amato scored gold at Sunburst.
The Brookfield East Girls ski team is heading to the state competition in La Crosse after finishing second at this week's slalom race at Sunburst Ski Hill in Kewaskum.
Erica Engstrand (44.53) and Michael Amato (40.97) also individually qualified for state, with one more regular season race set for Thursday at Alpine Valley.
On the girls team, Hailey McKenna came in 4th place; Andi Moyer 9th; Shelby Jacob 10th; Chloe Olson 12th.

On the boys team, which finished fourth place, Michael Wolff came in 8th individually; Jack Kemnitz 14th and Henry Termuehlen 19th.
Competing in the slalom race were 130 skiers from Brookfield East, Brookfield Central, Marquette and Homestead.
