Brookfield Central Names Next Football Coach

Brookfield Central High School has found its new football coach in Jed Kennedy, a football coach at a high school in Florida.

Kennedy is moving to Wisconsin for his family. He was only at the Florida high school for a year, according to the Orlando Sentinel. He previously coached at Bradford High School in Kenosha.

"Jed earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education majoring in Physical and Health Education from UW-River Falls in 2003," states an Elmbrook School District Board of Education memo. "Jed is presently a PE teacher at Edgewater High School in Orlando Florida. He spent a year as a PE and Leadership teacher in Pulaski, Wisconsin from 2011-2012.  Jed served as an Athletic Director, Dean of students, and teacher at Bradford Union High School in Kenosha from 2007-2012."

Kennedy was also hired as a physical education and health teacher at the school, according to Tuesday's school board agenda.

The Lancer's previous football coach, Jamie Meulemans, stepped down from the team in 2013 for family reasons, according to a December Brookfield Now article.

Meulemans was officially hired as associate principal on Tuesday by the Elmbrook School Board of Education.
