East Soccer Heads to Semifinals Against State Champ

Brookfield East defeated Kimberly 2-0 to advance to the semifinals Friday against Marquette.

In a chilly, driving rain, the Brookfield East soccer team eliminated Kimberly from the WIAA Division 1 state quarterifinals Thursday.

With the 2-0, the Spartans advance to the semifinals against defending state champions Marquette, who beat Memorial 4-0 Thursday. The semi is at 8 p.m. Friday at Uihlein Soccer Park.

East's Ryan Toy headed in an assist from fellow senior Trenton Daniels for the first goal in the first half, according to wissports.net. Junior Ryan Dundun nabbed the second and only other goal in the windy, wet battle on Uihlein's turf.
