If Lancers Girls Get to State, They'll Earn It

Brookfield Central seeded fourth in brutal WIAA girls basketball bracket.

They won their conference, but that accomplishment didn't earn the Brookfield Central girls basketball team any breathers in the WIAA Division 1 tournament.

When brackets were drawn Sunday, the Lancers (15-6, 12-1 Greater Metro Conference) drew a No. 4 seed in the regional and face West Allis Central (16-5, 11-3 GMC) in the first round on March 12. West Allis Central just handed the Lancers their first conference loss on Feb. 18, by 13 points.

The winner of that game most likely plays top-seeded Pius XI, which is 20-1.
