PatchTour: FCA Badminton Tournament

Brookfield East Fellowship of Christian Athletes hosted a badminton tournament at East High Field House on Friday.

Kaitlin McCarty and C.J. Gregg co-founded the Brookfield East chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes last year, as juniors.

“I thought it would be a good way for people to connect through sports, and find common ground to talk about God,” McCarty said Friday at the FCA’s first badminton tournament, held at the school.

About two dozen students paid $5 each to participate, with proceeds benefitting FCA and Japan earthquake relief.

McCarty participates in tennis and track; Gregg is involved in football, basketball and track. Andy Farley, the boys basketball coach, is the faculty advisor.

Friday's tournament was the next-to-last stop on the Brookfield Patch Tour. Brookfield Patch has been touring the area all week, handing out goodies and talking about all that Patch has to offer. The tour schedule with links to coverage of the events:
