Three Brookfield Swimmers Competing in State Meet

After placing high in a number of events, three swimmers from the co-op team will be competing this weekend at the state meet.

After the co-op Brookfield East/West team placed third at sectional, three Brookfield swimmers qualified to compete this weekend at the WIAA Division 1 State Meet in Madison.

Junior Brian Borden will compete in the 100 yard breaststroke and 200 yard individual medley. Senior Joseph Bauer will compete in the 100 yard freestyle and 50 yard freestyle. Additionally, senior Mitch Douglas will also compete in the 50 yard freestyle.

Over the weekend Douglas placed first in the 50 yard freestyle, while teammate Bauer came behind in second at the WIAA sectional at Waukesha South High School. Bauer also placed third in the 100 yard freestyle.

Borden placed first in the 100 yard breaststroke and second in the 200 yard individual medley.

The co-op team also came in second in the 200 and 400 yard freestyle relay.
