Brookfield 4th of July Fireworks Still a Go, Plus Parades and More
Despite dry conditions and fire danger levels, the city plans to conducts its annual fireworks display Wednesday evening. But a ban remains on use of all fireworks including sparklers and caps. See Patch's guide to all Independence Day events.

The city's Fourth of July fireworks will be set off as planned Wednesday evening, with officials closely monitoring potential fire dangers amid dry conditions.
Elm Grove's fireworks, however, have been canceled. Brookfield Fire Chief Charlie Myers explains .

The City and Town of Brookfield — and Village of Elm Grove — all have imposed bans on fireworks, outdoor burning and burn pits other than commercial grills for cooking food.

Town of Brookfield
The parade starts at 9 a.m. Wednesday at and runs east along Davidson Road and then south on Linden Lane, ending at Marx Park, 700 S. Barker Road.
The National Anthem will be sung at 9:45 a.m. to kick off a picnic at the park that runs until noon.
There will be food for sale and free ice cream and juice boxes handed out to children. Games will include sack races, a baby crawl, fire hose squirt, egg toss, pie-eating contest and "hockey haven slapshot." The fire department will have a "hose down" at 11:30 a.m. and there will be inflatables and awards for best-decorated bikes.
City of Brookfield
The parade kicks off at 10 a.m. Wednesday on Gebhardt Road near (see parade route map), turns north on Calhoun Road, west on North Avenue, south on Norhardt Drive, ending at Civic Drive.
The city is asking residents not to put out any lawn chairs or other items before 7 p.m. Tuesday.
An ice cream social will be held immediately after the parade at Civic Plaza, 2000 N. Calhoun Rd.
From 6 to 9 p.m. Family Fest will be held at , with the band Our House, Heads Up Juggling and magician Glen Gerard. Also on tap: games, food and fireworks at about 9:15 p.m.
