New Fountain for the Dog Days of Summer

A drinking fountain for humans and dogs has been installed in Village Park in Elm Grove, helped by a donation from the Elm Grove Women's Club.

The Elm Grove Community Foundation recently installed a new drinking fountain that includes a low bowl for dogs to drink at Village Park.

The fountain has a lower level for children or wheelchairs and a third, higher tier.

Installed in mid-May in an area of the park where dogs are allowed, the fountain was made possible in part due to a $5,000 donation from the Elm Grove Women's Club, which raised the funds at its annual Chandelier Ball.

The community foundation, created in 1999, also sponsored the “A Walk in Time” project that placed historic markers along the path surrounding the pond at Village Park. The markers are boulders with bronze plaques that provide village history.

The foundation also provides financial support to Memorial Day and Fourth of July events, as well as the concerts in the park series.
