11 Libertarians Successfully File for Fall Election

Hudson, 8:30 AM – After receiving a unanimous endorsement from delegates at the Libertarian Party of Wisconsin State Convention in April, Robert Burke and Joe Brost, candidates for Governor and Lt Governor, submitted their 2500 signatures for the ballot on Monday, June 2nd. 

 "The Wisconsin Liberty Coalition has a message for Governor Walker: Forward is the other direction," says Libertarian Candidate for Governor Robert Burke of Hudson. "The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation should not be taking tax payer dollars and loaning it out to entities around the state, much less private business owners. Libertarians are going to head in the direction of fewer loans made by the state to anyone as the people of Wisconsin are neither a bank nor a venture capital firm."

 Andy Craig, Libertarian Candidate for Secretary of State, submitted his 2600 signatures as well as another 5000 for the Libertarian candidates for Treasurer and Attorney General. "Everyone in the state will have the choice to vote Libertarian five times this fall. But we suggest watching the the 66th Assembly and the 5th State Senate races where Libertarians are going head to head with the Democrat incumbent in one race, and the Republican incumbent in the other. Heres the bigger question, which opposing Libertarian gets the most votes from the team without a horse in the race?" 

The Libertarian Party is considering its best option to assist in the rejection of one candidates petitions. Richard Martin, of Neenah Wisconsin running for the 55th Assembly District as a Libertarian, used the state standard petition for non-partisan office to collect signatures rather than the nearly identical form for partisan elections. "Libertarians fight the complexity of the systems and it's discriminatory effect on 3rd parties. There has been a fear this entire petition season that a candidate would get tripped up by the complexity, so this outcome is not altogether surprising to the Coalition." Says Joe Brost of New Richmond. 

This year the Wisconsin Liberty Coalition is working to run a grass roots social media campaign, focusing on FaceBook, Twitter, YouTube, and other popular social sites where they believe their voters can best be reached and all candidates profiles and information can best be found of Facebook or atWisconsinLibertyCoalition.Org.
