<p>The City Parks and Recreation Department is arguably one of the city's busiest departments, running a myriad of programming for ages from youth to seniors.</p>
<p>It operates the <a href="http://www.ci.brookfield.wi.us/index.aspx?NID=109">Wirth Aquatic Center</a>, <a href="http://www.ci.brookfield.wi.us/index.aspx?NID=101">Senior Center</a> and annual Independence Day <a href="http://www.ci.brookfield.wi.us/index.aspx?NID=725">parade</a>.</p> <p>The department also maintains the <a href="http://www.ci.brookfield.wi.us/index.aspx?nid=92">city's parks</a>, <a href="http://www.ci.brookfield.wi.us/index.aspx?NID=94">trails</a> and <a href="http://www.ci.brookfield.wi.us/index.aspx?NID=719">open spaces</a>. And it oversees youth and adult <a href="http://www.ci.brookfield.wi.us/index.aspx?nid=585">sports leagues,</a> using an online <a href="http://www.ci.brookfield.wi.us/index.aspx?NID=628">registration</a> system. </p> <p>It also has information on additional community <a href="http://www.ci.brookfield.wi.us/index.aspx?NID=379">recreation groups</a>, such as the Brookfield Tennis Club and Elmbrook Swim Club. </p>
