The Town of Brookfield Fire Department is staffed 24-7 with full- and part-time personnel. Typically, the town's single station has five personnel present, three who man an engine and two who man the ambulance. If needed, additional firefighters and emergency medical technicians are paged to respond. 

The department has about 40 personnel, including a fire chief, assistant chief, two captains, three lieutenants and about 30 firefighter/heavy equipment operators. About two-thirds of the firefighters are certified as paramedic-level emergency medical technicians, with the rest holding certifications as basic or intermediate EMTs.
