Driver Had Ambien in Her Car After Crash, Police Say

A Brookfield woman whose car struck a telephone pole and left the scene had five bottles of Ambien in her car, a criminal complaint alleges. Kelly T. Blaha, 24, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance. If convicted, she faces up to 30 days in jail and $500 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On July 23, Brookfield police officers were called to North Calhoun Road and Civic Drive on the report of a hit and run accident. Witnesses saw a car hit a telephone pole, then continue driving westbound on Civic. Blaha was determined to be driving the car and was later found.
