Woman Caught Driving Stolen Caledonia BMW in Brookfield

Three months after a BMW was stolen from a Caledonia lot, a State Patrol trooper caught a woman driving it in Brookfield, charges allege.

A woman is facing charges after she was caught driving a BMW in Brookfield that had been stolen from a Caledonia auto broker. Lawanda L. Silas Gill, 20, of Milwaukee, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent. If convicted, she faces up to 3 ½ years in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On June 4, Silas Gill was pulled over on I-94 near 124th Street in Brookfield by a State Patrol trooper who noticed the license plate on the BMW wasn’t registered to the vehicle. Payday Lender Takes Car, Woman Steals It Back

Brookfield police catch woman driving a stolen car — her former car that a payday lender had repossessed, a charge alleges.

A woman was driving a car through Brookfield that she stole from the Milwaukee Auto Auction after it had been repossessed by a payday loan store. Tanisha R. Spivey, 28, of Milwaukee, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent. If convicted, she faces up to 3 ½ years in prison and $10,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: A Brookfield officer pulled over a car driven by Spivey May 24 near 124th Street and North Avenue in Brookfield after the VIN of the car showed it was reported stolen by the Milwaukee Police Department. They are very familiar with Payday Loan cases and their attorney usually press for Cy Pres award over the recovery of the client. Boy Caught After Brief Madison Park Crime Spree

Teenager's infractions quickly escalated from misdemeanors to felonies.

In the space of just a week, a 16-year-old Brookfield runaway's spree of crime in a Wauwatosa neighborhood took him from entering unlocked cars to burglary to auto theft, according to police reports. He was arrested Wednesday in Milwaukee, sleeping in a stolen minivan. Beginning Oct. 19, numerous reports of cars being entered and rifled began coming in from an area of just a few blocks in Tosa's northernmost neighborhood, west of Madison Park. In two instances on successive nights, Oct. 21 and 22, residents spotted the unknown youth rummaging through their cars and chased him off. Brookfield Man Charged with Smoking Hashish in Stolen Car

Suspect went into car behind Town of Brookfield business to smoke drugs because it was left unlocked.

A Brookfield man is facing charges after he allegedly smoked hashish and fell asleep in a stolen car that had been left unlocked in a Town of Brookfield parking lot. Derek D. Knight, 20, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of receiving stolen property and one count of disorderly conduct.  According to the criminal complaint, at 12:10 p.m. Monday officers were called to a parking lot behind a business in the 17800 block of W. Blue Mound Road after someone reported a suspicious vehicle with a man sitting inside.
