Fires at Restaurant and Condo Cause Limited Damage
Brookfield firefighters were called to a grill fire at Wasabi restaurant Friday evening and a porch fire at a condominium complex Sunday.
Brookfield firefighters extinguished a fire on condominium porch Sunday evening before the flames spread to the residence. Firefighters also responded to an oven fire at Wasabi restaurant at 15455 W. Blue Mound Rd., which was closed pending a county environmental health services review. According to Brookfield fire and police reports: Condo porch fire: A neighbor called 911 to report a second-floor porch was on fire at 18215 Taywood Circle at 4:18 p.m. Sunday. The flames were reported to be 2- to 3-feet tall and 4- to 6-feet wide on the attached porch. A police officer arrived first, using a fire extinguisher to knock down the flames.
