Driver Had Ambien in Her Car After Crash, Police Say

A Brookfield woman who hit a telephone pole and left the scene had illegal controlled substance in her car, a charge alleges.

A Brookfield woman whose car struck a telephone pole and left the scene had five bottles of Ambien in her car, a criminal complaint alleges. Kelly T. Blaha, 24, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance. If convicted, she faces up to 30 days in jail and $500 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On July 23, Brookfield police officers were called to North Calhoun Road and Civic Drive on the report of a hit and run accident. Waukesha teenager caused a car accident in Brookfield after he bought synthetic marijuana in Oak Creek, a criminal complaint alleges.

A 19-year-old Waukesha man is accused of causing a Brookfield car accident after smoking synthetic marijuana and driving. Brandon J. Lehr was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Tuesday with felony bail jumping and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, he faces up to three years and three months in prison and $10,500 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On Nov. 1, Brookfield police officers were called to North Avenue near Lilly Road for a traffic accident involving an SUV and car. A West Allis man stole items from cars at a Town of Brookfield hotel to sell them to buy drugs, police allege.

A West Allis man broke into cars at a Town of Brookfield hotel so he could get money to buy drugs, charges allege. Jacob L. Anderson, 23, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with three counts of entry into a locked vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of possession of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. If convicted, he faces up to 33 months in prison and $31,500 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On Aug. 21, Anderson wanted to buy drugs but needed money. Woman Charged With Embezzlement, Heroin Possession

An Eagle woman investigated for stealing from Brookfield company also had $320 worth of heroin in her car, a criminal complaint alleges.

A woman is facing embezzlement charges after she allegedly stole thousands from a Brookfield company by writing checks to herself and inflating her timesheet. Tonya J. Conklin, 19, of Eagle, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with theft from a business setting, identity theft and theft. If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in prison and $30,000 in fines. Probation Ordered in Overdose Death

A Brookfield woman will serve four years probation and avoid prison after she gave oxycodone pills to a Waukesha man who later overdosed and died.

A Brookfield woman who provided the oxycodone that lead to the death of Waukesha resident Matthew D. Dziatkiewicz will avoid prison. Jessica J. Hintz, 26, pleaded guilty in Waukesha County Circuit Court on Thursday to felony first-degree reckless homicide by delivery of drugs. Waukesha County Circuit Judge Kathryn Foster sentenced Hintz to four years probation. She could have faced up to 40 years in prison. Prosecutors said that in November 2011, Hintz got a bag of oxycodone pills from a friend at a bar in Milwaukee and late on Nov. 4, she ingested two while Dziatkiewicz, 25, took five of the pills and consumed alcohol. Man Charged With Forging Prescriptions at Brookfield CVS

Suspect told police he got the pills because he had been in about six accidents while working in a job where he drove frequently, charges allege.

A New Berlin man is facing charges after he allegedly passed several forged prescriptions at a Brookfield pharmacy. Michael C. Kenny, 52, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with four counts of uttering a forgery. If convicted, he faces up to 24 years in prison and $40,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On May 31, Brookfield police officers were called to CVS Pharmacy, 17165 W. Bluemound Rd., after it was discovered Kenny submitted prescriptions twice for 240 Hydrocodone pills and twice for 12 Zolpidem pills. A Brookfield woman is facing charges after she allegedly stole her friend’s credit card in 2009 and used it to buy items for herself. Elise M. Somers, 22, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court on Friday with five counts of identity theft. If convicted, she faces up to 30 years in prison. According to the criminal complaint: On May 14, 2009, a woman reported her credit card had been stolen and used to purchase roughly $565 worth of goods at stores in Brookfield. The victim suspected Somers took the card while they were at a friend’s house and she dropped the card. Investigators looked into the transactions and found Somers had indeed bought the items.
