Elmbrook Education Foundation Spring Gala Will Support Project Lead The Way

The gala will be held April 12 at Sharon Lynne Wilson Center.

The Elmbrook Education Foundation is holding its Spring Gala on April 12. First Bank Financial Centre is sponsoring the event. The event will feature food from Maxie's Southern Comfort and Blue's Egg, dueling pianos by Lucille's Piano Bar and Grill, jewelry dig by Faye's, wine pull by Ava Wine & Spirits, an auction and raffle. This year's event will help support the foundation's $100,000 pledge to support Project Lead The Way in Elmbrook middle schools. The proceeds will go toward the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) program. The gala will be held April 12 at Sharon Lynne Wilson Center from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Registration is $50 per person. People can also pre-order raffle tickets. See the attached form for …

$48K Raised During Elmbrook Education Foundation Ladies Night

The donations will help support programs at the Elmbrook School District.

The Elmbrook Education Foundation raised nearly $48,000 at its ninth annual Ladies Night Nov. 27 at the Westmoor Country Club — a record amount for the event, the EEF announced. About 250 people attended the event, which sponsored by the law firm Pasternak & Zirgibel, S.C. The foundation raised nearly $36,000 at the same event in 2011. The money raised helps fund foundation programs that support the Elmbrook School District. “These funds will be used to help sustain our efforts in partnership with the Elmbrook School District,” states the EEF’s website. “As a member of this community, the outstanding quality of our public schools is of utmost importance.  We look forward to continuing our work with the school district to enhance the lives …

Head of Elmbrook Education Foundation Stepping Down

Laura Schmidt, who has led the Elmbrook Education Foundation for four years, is stepping down as its executive director. Schmidt has offered to serve on the transition team until a successor can be found.  "I have a passion for Elmbrook and the foundation's role in its continued success. However, it is time for me to pursue other professional interests," Schmidt said in a statement. "I look forward to finding new ways to serve the district and the community as a whole in the future." The foundation, which was founded in 1958, provides grants to district schools and also has a scholarship program. Middle School STEM Campaign Kicked off by Elmbrook Foundation

To add a Gateway to Technology (GTT) program at Wisconsin Hills and Pilgrim Park middle schools, the Elmbrook Education Foundation is seeking donations to assist the school district.

The EEF Board of Directors has announced their support for the District's implementation of the Gateway to Technology (GTT) program at both of Elmbrook's Middle Schools.   Elmbrook is already a leader with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) curriculum at the High School through its offering of the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) program. PLTW courses benefit students that elect to take these classes. The GTT foundation units will be integrated into the core curriculum at the middle school. This benefits ALL students by emphasizing critical thinking, creativity, innovation and real-world problem solving. GTT specialization units will be made available through elective coursework to extend the curriculum for those with a passion …

Twenty Elmbrook Teachers Named as Most Influential Educators

In a new program created by the Elmbrook Parent Leadership Council and the Elmbrook Education Foundation, graduating seniors nominate teachers who made a significant impact on their education.

Twenty Elmbrook teachers have been named a 2012 Most Influential Educator in a new program created by two local education groups. The teachers were selected by graduating seniors at Brookfield Central and East High Schools, under a program sponsored by the Elmbrook Parent Leadership Council (EPLC) and the Elmbrook Education Foundation (EEF). It was developed by parents Jane Peavler and Kristin Urban and honors teachers who have made a significant positive impact on students' K-12 education. PHOTOS: Casino Royale Raises More Than $15K for Education

Hosted by the Elmbrook Education Foundation, the 4th Annual Winter Social held at the Sharon Lynne will help Elmbrook schools and students.

The Elmbrook Education Foundation's 4th Annual Winter Social raised more than $15,000 for grants, scholarships and other programs for Elmbrook Schools, the EEF announced on its website. The foundation has posted an large array of new photos from the event on its Facebook page. Brookfield Patch also previously posted this photo gallery. Dubbed Casino Royale, the gala included small plate buffets, casino games, raffles, jewelry dig, wine pull, restaurant tree and complimentary photos by Babboni Photography.  More information about the event is available on this EEF blog post.

This year's theme was "Casino Royale." Since 2001, the EEF has awarded nearly $300,000 in grants to Elmbrook's 11 schools. Elmbrook Education Foundation Raises $36K, Next Up: Casino Night

The 8th annual Ladies Night held by the Elmbrook Education Foundation raised nearly $36,000 for foundation programs that support the Elmbrook School District.

The Elmbrook Education Foundation raised nearly $36,000 at its 8th annual Ladies Night Nov. 29 at the Westmoor Country Club — a record amount for the event, the EEF announced. About 300 people attended the event, sponsored by the law firm Pasternak & Zirgibel, S.C., with help from 50 community volunteers. Many volunteers came from corporate programs through World Martial Arts Academy, Best Buy and Charlie's East Coast Hair Design. Holly Stahl Foundation Awards Scholarships, Promotes "Love Life!"

Nearly a year after Central grad Holly Christina Stahl died in a car crash, her foundation is awarding scholarships and encouraging people to relish time with family, friends.

Eleven months after 2009 Brookfield Central grad Holly Christina Stahl died in a car crash, WTMJ-TV host Vince Vitrano on Monday interviewed her mother Kari Stahl and aunt Kim Tomich about the Holly Stahl Foundation's accomplishments. The foundation encourages people to live Holly's mantra of "Love Life!" and raises money for scholarships through the Elmbrook Education Foundation and the University of Minnesota's College of Design through sale of "Love Life!" wristbands. The first Holly Christina Stahl Memorial scholarship recipients selected were Kristina Rohloff (Elmbrook) and Tawana Terrell (University of Minnesota).
